What You Need to Get Started

We keep entry requirements straightforward. Most international students qualify easily, and we're here to help you through the process.

Language Proficiency

All instruction happens in English. You'll need to demonstrate comfortable working proficiency—not perfect, just functional.

  • IELTS 6.0 or TOEFL 78 (iBT)
  • Cambridge B2 First or equivalent
  • Previous university instruction in English
  • Interview assessment if no formal certificate

Academic Background

We accept students from various educational paths. Art school helps, but it's not mandatory.

  • Secondary education completion
  • Portfolio showing creative work (any medium)
  • Basic computer literacy
  • No prior 3D experience required

Technical Setup

You'll need reliable equipment for remote study. Most students already have what they need.

  • Windows PC or Mac with 16GB RAM minimum
  • Stable internet connection (10 Mbps+)
  • Graphics tablet recommended (not required initially)
  • Headset for collaborative sessions

Documentation

Standard paperwork for international enrollment. We'll guide you through each document.

  • Valid passport
  • Educational transcripts (translated)
  • Proof of English proficiency
  • Portfolio of 5-10 creative works

How the Program Works for Remote Students

Our 14-month character modeling program runs on a flexible schedule that accommodates different time zones. Classes are recorded, projects are self-paced within weekly deadlines, and instructors hold office hours across multiple time slots.

  • Months 1-4: Foundations

Learn anatomy, proportion, and basic modeling. You'll create simple characters and build fundamental skills in ZBrush and Maya. Weekly live sessions introduce concepts, with recorded versions available within an hour.

  • Months 5-9: Technical Development

Topology, UV mapping, texturing, and material creation. Projects get more complex as you develop full characters from concept to final model. Peer review sessions connect you with classmates globally.

  • Months 10-14: Specialization & Portfolio

Choose your focus—stylized characters, realistic humans, creatures, or hard surface. Your final project becomes a portfolio centerpiece. Instructors provide individual feedback through video reviews and written critiques.

Students typically spend 20-25 hours weekly on coursework. That includes live sessions, independent practice, and project work. The rhythm feels manageable if you're organized.

Support Services for International Students

Studying remotely from another country brings unique challenges. We've set up specific support systems to help you succeed.

Time Zone Flexibility

Live sessions rotate between morning, afternoon, and evening European time. Most students can attend at least two weekly live sessions without staying up all night. All sessions are recorded with timestamps for easy navigation.

Technical Assistance

Software problems happen. Our tech support team covers issues with Blender, ZBrush, Maya, and Substance Painter. They operate from 8:00 to 22:00 CET and respond to tickets within four hours during that window.

Cultural Adjustment

Our student community includes people from different backgrounds. Monthly virtual meetups let you connect with classmates. Some students form study groups in their regions—we help facilitate those connections.

Payment Options

Tuition can be paid in euros, US dollars, or British pounds through international wire transfer or major payment platforms. We offer payment plans that split costs across the program duration to make budgeting easier.

Career Services

Portfolio reviews, resume feedback, and interview preparation work the same for remote students. We connect international students with studios in their regions and help navigate work visa processes for European opportunities.

Campus Visits

Remote students can visit our Gijón campus during the program. Many international students come for a week or two to work in person, meet classmates, and attend workshops. We help arrange short-term accommodation nearby.

Application Process & Timeline

Applications for our June 2026 cohort open in December 2025. The process takes about three weeks from submission to decision.

1

Submit Application

Complete the online form with your educational background and English proficiency documentation. Upload your portfolio showing 5-10 creative works in any medium—drawing, painting, sculpture, digital art, or photography.

2

Portfolio Review

Our admissions team reviews portfolios within five business days. We're looking for creativity and foundational artistic understanding, not technical 3D skills. About 70% of applicants move to the interview stage.

3

Video Interview

Schedule a 30-minute video conversation with an instructor and Jakub from admissions. We'll discuss your goals, creative interests, and ask about specific portfolio pieces. This also serves as an English proficiency check.

4

Enrollment Decision

You'll receive an admission decision within one week of your interview. Accepted students have three weeks to confirm enrollment with a deposit. We'll send detailed information about payment options and program start procedures.
